Blizzard says it is actively monitoring an ongoing distributed denial of service attack that is preventing users from logging in or putting them in long queues for Activision Blizzard games, including World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, COD Warzone, and Hearthstone. , Overwatch and Diablo.
Some users are reporting that when they try to log into Battle.net, they are queued up with an estimated wait time of over an hour. A DDOS attack is a malicious disruption of an online service where bots deliberately flood a target server with traffic from a wide variety of sources. This results in the server being unable to resolve legitimate connections and in some cases, can cause complete outages. This is why users are unable to log in.
Blizzard has currently stated that they’re fixing the issue.
