Cobra Kai Plot
Cobra Kai is a sequel series based on the Karate Kid films. The show follows Miguel, a high school student who is trained by Johnny Lawrence, the main antagonist of the original film. The show also explores his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso, who was the protagonist of the original Karate Kid films. It also introduces a completely new cast of characters. The story of the show was adapted into a video game titled Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues.
Featured animated sequences like they were out of a cover book, the game was a 3D action game that was a sidescrolling beat ’em-up. The narrative was told from two points of view, eventually culminating in one final fight. Featuring flashy effects, it certainly looked cool. How it played was another story, it performed alright financially but critically it was a very mixed bag.
Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising
Despite the issues with the previous one, Flux Games have decided to make a sequel to Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues in the form of Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising. The game will this feature not two, but three different versions of the same narratives, where players will either choose between the dojos of Miyagi-Do, Cobra Kai, or Eagle Fang. They will have to fight their way to the top and become the All-Valley Champion, a staple of the Karate Kid franchise. There is also a Cobra Classics mode, where players can relive moments from the show.
The game also has a progression system where players can collect chi and coins to improve their powers and skill. Using them players can also recruit new members for their dojo. Featuring a cast of 28 playable characters, players will also be able to compete online with each other in the All-Valley Tournament. As of now, there’s no specific release date for this game but is expected to come out later this year.
Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in Fall 2022.
