Evo Japan 2023 has been confirmed to be taking place at the Tokyo Big Sight. The event will start on March 31st and end on April 2nd. Evo Japan 2023 will be featuring the same Championship Sunday lineup from Evo 2022. This means it will be featuring games such as Guilty Gear Strive, Street FighterV: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, and King of Fighters XV.
Evo’s general manager, Rick “TheHadou” Thiher, stated:
It is joyous having Evo Japan return to Tokyo for the global fighting game community, Japan is the birthplace of competitive fighting games and we can’t wait to open the doors at Tokyo Big Sight next spring to continue celebrating their legacy with players and fans worldwide.
This is great news, as the last Evo Japan was held two years ago, in January 2020. The 2020 Evo Japan included games such as Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Soulcalibur VI, Samurai Shodown, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Evo 2022 featured 7000 players from 63 countries, all of whom traveled to Las Vegas and competed in nine main games, along with many side tournaments.
