The Return Of A Classic
While on the surface Lollipop Chainsaw may seem like another generic hack-and-slash released during the Xbox 360 era, it’s a lot more interesting than you think. Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, the game was a collaboration between Goichi Suda and the Hollywood director James Gunn. Yes, the very same who has gone on to direct movies such as Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Suicide Squad (2021).
Legendary game director Goichi Suda should be noted for his work on the project as well. The mind behind projects such as the masterpiece No More Heroes and Killer 7. Although, not the biggest game, Lollipop Chainsaw has gone on to be beloved by fans as an underrated gem. You can see why people would be excited about a remake, furthermore, the remake features the very same producer as the original game, Yoshimi Yasuda, who is now the CEO of Dragami Games.
The remake will include brand new visuals and updated graphics. Fans were a bit disappointed, as it was revealed the game would remove quite a few of the licensed tracks from the original game. Instead, the game will feature completely new music, with only some licensed tracks.
As of right now, there’s no proper release date, but fans can expect the Lollipop Chainsaw remake to release in 2023.
