Tactics Ogre: Reborn is the upcoming remake of the original classic released almost two decades prior. The strategy RPG has been confirmed to be receiving a remake earlier and will feature a whole host of new features. While not as big as other RPGs released during its time, Tactics Ogre still has its fair share of fans, so this news should be great for old fans looking to replay the game, as well as fans looking to get into the franchise.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a tactical role-playing game that was released in 1995 for the Super Famicom, known as the SNES in other regions. The game was brought over to the Sega Saturn a year later and got a release in North America in May 1998 on the PlayStation 1. The game was praised when it was released for both its story and gameplay and sold over 500,000 copies in Japan alone. The art style and music of the game were praised as well, being noted as one of the more beautiful 2D games of that era.

Tactics Ogre received a remake in 2010, also titled Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling together. The remake was released on the PSP and featured various enhancements over the previous versions of the game. It seems as though this is the version that Tactics Ogre: Reborn will be based on. While we described it as a remake earlier, Tactics Ogre: Reborn may be better described as a remaster.

Below are the new features and enhancements in Tactics Ogre: Reborn.

  • High-Definition Characters and Backgrounds.
  • Fully Updated User Interface.
  • Sound improvements.
  • A redesigned battle system, featuring the unit-by-unit leveling system.
  • Battle AI overhaul.
  • Playability improvements.
  • The story remains largely the same but features new additions. Tactics Ogre: Reborn will feature new scenes and characters which weren’t present in the original version.

Tactics Ogre: Reborn will be released on November 11th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
